This jam is made from reines claudes plums. These French plums (also called Greengage plums) are considered to be the best dessert plums as they are sweet and juicy. If you'd like to know more about these French plums, I suggest you read David
Lebovitz's article on reines claudes plums.
Lilamand's reines claudes jam showcases the reines claudes' fruity flavor, the perfect balance of sweetness.
We think the best way to enjoy this jam is on toasted bread.
You can also do it the French way and dip it in plain yogurt.
Lilamand is now making delicious jams with the same fruits they use to crystallize them. The Lilamand shop was founded by Marius Lilamand in 1866 in Saint Rémy de Provence in the region of Provence. His son Justin carried on with the candy-shop in 1903 and devoted himself to the making of crystallized fruits. His son Pierre continues today the tradition of crystallized fruits and uses his talent and experience to create new products like calissons, jams and syrups.
Ingredients: reines claudes plums, cane sugar.
